Best Casinos for Each Game

Every casino on our site offers a full lobby, but some are stronger at certain games. These are our picks for each type of player, based on the game range, the studios and how well the games play on desktop and mobile.

Online Slots

Slots are the most popular casino games in Malta and make up most of every lobby. You spin the reels, and wins land when matching symbols line up on paylines or, in many modern games, anywhere on the screen. Most slots add free spins, multipliers or a bonus round on top of the base game.

How RTP and Volatility Work

Return to player, or RTP, tells you how much a slot pays back on average over millions of spins. A slot with 96% RTP returns 96 EUR for every 100 EUR wagered over time, which means the house keeps about 4 EUR on average. It says nothing about a single session, where anything can happen.

Volatility describes how a slot pays. Low volatility games pay small wins often, while high volatility games can go quiet for a long time and then pay a big win in one bonus round. If you have a small budget, lower volatility usually makes it last longer.

Casinos can choose between several RTP versions of the same slot. Before you play, open the game info screen and check the RTP shown there, not the figure you saw elsewhere.

Popular Slots at Our Casinos

These are some of the most played slots in the lobbies we tested, with the RTP and maximum win published by each studio.

Slot Studio RTP Volatility Max Win
Gates of Olympus Pragmatic Play 96.50% High 5,000x
Sweet Bonanza Pragmatic Play 96.51% High 21,100x
Big Bass Bonanza Pragmatic Play 96.71% Medium to high 2,100x
Book of Dead Play’n GO 96.21% High 5,000x
Wanted Dead or a Wild Hacksaw Gaming 96.38% High 12,500x
Book of the Fallen Pragmatic Play 96.50% High 5,000x

Types of Slots You Will Find

  • Classic slots: three reels, simple fruit symbols and few features.
  • Video slots: five or more reels with free spins, wilds and bonus games.
  • Megaways: the number of symbols changes on every spin, with up to 117,649 ways to win.
  • Bonus buy slots: pay a fixed price to jump straight to the bonus round.
  • Hold and Win: collect money symbols that lock in place while respins reset.
  • Jackpot slots: part of every bet feeds a prize pool that can grow very large.

Roulette

Roulette is simple to learn: you bet on where the ball will land, from a single number to red or black. The version you choose matters more than any betting system, because the house edge changes with the number of zeros on the wheel.

Version Zeros House Edge Our View
French Roulette 1 1.35% on even bets with La Partage The best odds at the wheel
European Roulette 1 2.70% A solid choice, easy to find
Lightning Roulette 1 2.70% Live game with random multipliers
American Roulette 2 5.26% Avoid when a single zero table is open

With La Partage, you get half of an even money bet back when the ball lands on zero, which is why French roulette halves the edge on those bets. Outside bets such as red or black win often but pay even money, while a single number pays 35 to 1.

Blackjack

Blackjack is the casino game where your decisions matter most. You try to beat the dealer by getting closer to 21 without going over, and with basic strategy the house edge drops to around 0.5% at standard tables.

Basic Strategy in a Nutshell

  • Always stand on hard 17 or more.
  • With 12 to 16, stand when the dealer shows 2 to 6 and hit when the dealer shows 7 to Ace.
  • Double down on 11, and on 10 unless the dealer shows a 10 or an Ace.
  • Always split Aces and 8s, and never split 10s or 5s.
  • Skip insurance, because it is a side bet with a high edge.

Rules change the odds, so check the table before you sit down. A blackjack that pays 3 to 2 is far better than one paying 6 to 5, and games where the dealer stands on soft 17 are slightly better for you.

Live Dealer Games

Live casino games bring a real dealer, real cards and a real wheel to your screen. Tables are streamed in HD from professional studios, and you place your bets through the game interface while the dealer runs the round in real time.

Most live tables at our casinos come from Evolution and Pragmatic Play Live, the two biggest live studios. You will find blackjack, roulette, baccarat and poker tables, with stakes that start at a few euro and go up to VIP limits. Live games need a stable connection, but they work well on a phone over 4G or 5G.

Live Game Shows

Game shows mix a TV-style host with a big money wheel or a twist on a classic game. They are built for entertainment, with bonus rounds and multipliers that can turn a small bet into a large win, but their house edge is usually higher than at a blackjack table.

Crazy Time from Evolution has four bonus games, Cash Hunt, Coin Flip, Pachinko and Crazy Time, and its RTP ranges from about 94.3% to 96.1% depending on the bet. Lightning Roulette is European roulette with random lucky numbers that pay 50x to 500x, and it returns 97.30% on most bets.

Baccarat and Poker Games

Baccarat is a game of pure chance with only three bets: Banker, Player or Tie. The Banker bet has the lowest edge at 1.06%, even after the usual 5% commission, while the Tie bet looks tempting but carries an edge of more than 14%.

Casino poker games such as Casino Hold’em, Three Card Poker and Caribbean Stud let you play against the dealer, not other players. They are easy to learn and pair a low base edge with optional side bets that pay more but cost more over time.

House Edge at a Glance

The house edge is the share of each bet the casino keeps on average. The lower it is, the longer your money tends to last. Here is how the main games compare.

  • Blackjack with basic strategy0.5%
  • Baccarat, Banker bet1.06%
  • French Roulette, even bets with La Partage1.35%
  • European Roulette2.70%
  • Online Slots at 96% RTP4%
  • American Roulette5.26%

Software Providers Behind the Games

The games at MGA licensed casinos come from independent studios, not from the casinos themselves. These are the studios you will see most often in the lobbies we review, and each one is licensed and tested before its games go live.

Are Online Casino Games Fair in Malta?

Yes, when you play at an MGA licensed casino. RNG games use certified random number generators, and the Malta Gaming Authority requires independent testing of games before and after launch. Live games are dealt by people on camera, with every round recorded.

The house edge is built into the rules of each game, so it is not a sign of foul play. What you can control is which games and versions you choose, and how much you spend on them. You can check any licence on the Malta Gaming Authority website.

Try Games for Free First

Most slots and many table games have a demo mode, where you play with virtual credits instead of real money. It is a smart way to learn the rules, see how often a slot pays and decide whether it suits you before you deposit.

Play Responsibly

Casino games are designed for entertainment, and over time the house always has an edge. Set a budget before you play, use the deposit and time limits every MGA casino must offer, and take breaks. If you need support, read our responsible gambling guide or call the free national helpline on 1777.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Is the Best Casino Game to Win at?

Blackjack played with basic strategy has the lowest house edge, at around 0.5%. Baccarat on the Banker bet and French roulette with La Partage are close behind. No game lets you beat the house in the long run, so treat every game as paid entertainment.

Which Online Slots Pay Out the Most?

Slots with a higher return to player pay back more on average over time. Many popular titles sit around 96% to 96.7%, but casinos can run lower versions of the same game, so always check the RTP in the game info screen.

Are Online Casino Games Legal in Malta?

Yes. Online casino games are legal in Malta when you play at a casino licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority, which regulates both online and land-based gaming.

Are Online Casino Games Rigged?

Games at MGA licensed casinos use random number generators that are tested by independent labs, and live games are dealt by real people on camera. The house edge is built into the rules, not hidden in the software.

Can I Play Casino Games for Free?

Most slots and many table games have a demo mode at licensed casinos, where you play with virtual credits. Live dealer games and game shows usually need a real money balance.

What Is the Difference Between RNG and Live Casino Games?

RNG games use software to decide every result, so rounds are instant and stakes can be very low. Live games use a real dealer, cards and wheels, streamed from a studio, which feels closer to a real casino but plays at a slower pace.
