Poker and Events
Casino Malta is a regular stop for international poker tours, and its calendar also includes themed nights, cultural events and live entertainment at weekends. If you are planning a trip around a tournament, check the schedule on the casino’s own channels, as dates change from season to season.
Good to Know
- Visitors need to be 18 or older and Maltese citizens 25 or older.
- Bring a passport or ID card for registration on your first visit.
- The casino is within walking distance of many St Julian’s hotels, so a taxi is rarely needed.
Getting There
Casino Malta is part of the Eden Place complex on St George’s Bay, in the InterContinental Malta building. That puts it a short walk from Paceville, the St George’s Bay beach and dozens of hotels.
Buses from Valletta, Sliema and the airport stop in St Julian’s and Paceville nearby, and night buses run at weekends. If you drive, the area has paid car parks close by, but spaces fill up fast on Friday and Saturday nights.
A Night at Casino Malta
Casino Malta is built for a long evening. The bar, live entertainment at weekends and the busy poker area give it a lively, Las Vegas style feel that is very different from the historic calm of Dragonara.
Table limits change through the day, with lower minimum bets earlier on. If you are new to live tables, an afternoon visit is the best time to learn without a crowd watching.
Is Casino Malta Right for You?
- Best for players who want the biggest choice of slots and tables.
- Ideal for poker players, with regular tournaments and international events.
- Handy if you are staying in St Julian’s or Paceville.
- Less suited to a quiet night, especially at weekends.
Choose Casino Malta when variety matters most. Nowhere else in Malta will you find as many games under one roof.
Around Casino Malta
St George’s Bay is one of the few sandy beaches in St Julian’s, and it sits right below the casino. Paceville, Malta’s busiest nightlife street, starts a couple of minutes away, with bars, clubs and late night food.
Several large hotels are within a short walk, including the InterContinental, the Hilton and the Westin Dragonara. If you stay in this part of St Julian’s, you can visit all three casinos in one evening without needing a taxi.
The flip side is noise. Weekend nights in Paceville are loud and crowded, so if you prefer a calmer evening, try a weekday or arrive earlier in the evening before the clubs fill up.
Prefer to Play From Home?
Casino Malta is a great night out, but it is not the only way to play. MGA licensed online casinos offer thousands of slots and live dealer tables, with welcome packages that no land-based casino can match.
