A Resort Casino in the North
Bugibba is one of Malta’s main holiday resorts, and the Oracle fits right in. It shares its home with the Dolmen Resort Hotel, which has more than 400 rooms along with themed restaurants and bars, so a night at the tables is easy to combine with dinner by the sea. The atmosphere is more relaxed than in busy St Julian’s, which suits casual players.
Slots and Tables
The gaming floor is slot focused, with more than 200 machines that start from just one cent per spin. On the table side, you can expect:
- Automated roulette terminals alongside live roulette.
- Blackjack tables.
- Texas Hold’em, with poker tournaments and cash games.
Why Choose the Oracle?
| If You Want | Oracle Delivers |
|---|---|
| Low stakes | Slots from one cent and a casual crowd |
| A holiday base | A casino inside a large seaside resort |
| Poker | Regular tournaments and cash games |
| Quiet evenings | Calmer than the casinos in St Julian’s |
Good to Know
Bring a passport or ID card, as all guests are registered on entry. Visitors must be 18 or older and Maltese citizens 25 or older. Check opening times with the casino before you travel, especially outside the summer season.
Getting There
The Oracle sits on the Qawra seafront inside the Dolmen Resort Hotel, where Bugibba meets Qawra. If you are staying in St Paul’s Bay, it is within walking distance of most hotels along the promenade.
From Valletta or the airport it takes around 30 to 40 minutes by car or taxi, and direct buses run to Bugibba and Qawra. Parking along the seafront is easier than in St Julian’s, especially outside the summer months.
Slots, Tables and a Sports Lounge
The gaming floor is dominated by slots, with more than 200 machines that start from one cent per spin and go up to high stakes games. Regular slot tournaments add a bit of competition.
Table games include blackjack, roulette, punto banco, Three Card Poker and Ultimate Texas Hold’em, alongside an electronic roulette table. A sports lounge with big screens shows football and racing, and the bistro serves Mediterranean dishes.
Combining the Oracle With a Holiday in the North
The north of Malta is a popular holiday base, with Mellieha Bay, the ferry to Gozo and Comino and the St Paul’s Islands all close by. A night at the Oracle fits easily into a stay in Bugibba or Qawra.
If you want to see the bigger casinos too, St Julian’s is about 25 minutes away by taxi. Many visitors spend one evening at the Oracle and another in St Julian’s.
Around the Oracle Casino
The Qawra promenade runs right past the Dolmen Resort Hotel, with plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars along the seafront. The Malta National Aquarium is a short walk away at Qawra Point, which makes the area popular with families during the day.
Bugibba Square, the heart of the resort, is about ten minutes away on foot. In summer the promenade stays busy late into the night, so a visit to the Oracle fits easily into an evening walk by the sea.
Outside the peak season the area is much quieter. That suits players who want a calm game and lower minimum bets without the St Julian’s crowds.
Prefer to Play From Home?
The Oracle is a great night out, but it is not the only way to play. MGA licensed online casinos offer thousands of slots and live dealer tables, with welcome packages that no land-based casino can match.
